The former dictator from Kenyasa, Tarek Benin, is in the intensive care unit in the Aareklinik in Bern, waiting for an operation. Suddenly hostage-takers storm the clinic. They don't want to allow the operation until the government releases the ex-ruler's Swiss accounts. The young doctor Katrin Staub gets caught in the conflict between the hostage-taker leader Ben Nagib, the chief doctor Portmann and her friend Thomas Forster.
