Cleistocactus ferrarii is a species of plant in the genus Cleistocactus from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Cleistocactus ferrarii grows shrubby with upright, cylindrical, green shoots branching at the base and reaches heights of up to 80 centimeters with diameters of 3.5 to 4 centimeters. The tip of the shoot has a bluish tinge. There are about 19 straight, low, blunt ribs . The egg-shaped areoles on it are close together and covered with white wool. The unequal 20 to 25 light yellow thorns are very thin, somewhat broadened at their base and 3 to 5 millimeters long.

The tubular flowers appearing to the side are up to 5 centimeters long and 1 centimeter in diameter. Your pericarpell and the flower tube are red, the bracts are greenish. The stamens barely stand, the pen will extend slightly further from the flower out. The spherical, pink-colored fruits that tear at the base reach a diameter of up to 1.5 centimeters.

Distribution and systematics

Cleistocactus ferrarii is distributed in the Argentine provinces of Salta and Jujuy at altitudes of 1000 to 1500 meters. It was first described in 1984 by Roberto Kiesling .
