Cleistocactus muyurinensis is a species of plant in the genus Cleistocactus from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet muyurinensis refers to the place Muyurina in the Bolivian province of Vallegrande , where the species was found.

description

Cleistocactus muyurinensis grows strauchig with branched at the base drives and reaches diameters 2-3 centimeters stature heights of up to 1.5 meters. There are 10 to 13 notched ribs . The areoles on it are close together. The 1 to 2 yellowish brown central spines are 2 to 4 inches long. The 3 to 4 hair-like radial spines are white and 3 to 5 millimeters long.

The straight, violet-purple flowers are up to 3.5 inches long. The brownish red fruits reach a diameter of up to 1.5 centimeters.

Distribution and systematics

Cleistocactus muyurinensis is widespread in the Bolivian department of Santa Cruz in the province of Vallegrande . It was first described in 1964 by Friedrich Ritter .
