Clemens August Freiherr Ostman from Leye (* 23. October 1861 in Haste , † 4. July 1933 in Atter was) from 1917 to 1919 District Administrator of the district Osnabrück .

Clemens August Freiherr Ostman von der Leye was born on October 23, 1861 on his parents' estate in Honeburg. After graduating from high school, he studied law and embarked on an administrative career. In 1895 he married the imperial free woman Eleonore von Fürstenberg-Stammheim . From 1917 to 1919 he was district administrator for the district of Osnabrück. Due to the abolition of aristocratic privileges, he withdrew into private life after the First World War . In an accident with a revolving door in the main branch of the Osnabrücker Sparkasse on Wittekindstrasse , he was seriously injured on June 30, 1933. He died on July 4, 1933 at Gut Leye of an undetected cerebral hemorrhage as a result of this accident .

In 1972, the District Administrator-von-Ostman-Straße in the Strothesiedlung in Osnabrück-Atter was named after him.
