Clemens von Oer

Baron Clemens Wenceslaus Maria Aloysius Franciscus Antonius von Oer (born June 8, 1768 at Egelborg Castle near Legden , † March 10, 1834 in Erfurt ) was a Prussian landowner and district administrator in the Beckum district from 1816 to 1827.

Life

As the son of Franz Ludolf von Oer and Klara Franziska Freiin von der Recke, Clemens von Oer came from the Westphalian nobility of Vestes Recklinghausen . He was the owner of the manor at Haus Nottbeck in the Beckum district. From 1788 to 1802 he served in the prince-bishop's military of Munster. On October 22nd, 1805 he was appointed district administrator of the Beckum district at the suggestion of the district landowners. On March 10, 1809 he was appointed sub-prefect in Coesfeld. Two years later he was appointed sub-prefect in the arrondissement of Steinfurt and in 1813 became district commissioner in the Steinfurt district . On August 9, 1816, subject to the approval of the Prussian King, he was appointed District Administrator of the Beckum District by the Münster government . The final appointment was on January 16, 1817. At his own request, he was dismissed from civil service on March 12, 1827. On December 17, 1805 he married Maria Theresia Freiin Vrints zu Treuenfeld in Legden. The marriage resulted in two sons. Maximilian was a poet and writer, Theobald was a painter and illustrator.
