Clifton Beach is a town in Tasmania about 25 km south-east of Hobart on the peninsula South Located arm. It is administratively owned by Clarence . The place had a total of 588 inhabitants in 2016.

Clifton Beach is bordered by rocky cliffs - in the east by the up to 54 m high cliffs at Cape Deslacs and in the west by up to 50 m high cliffs that stretch around 3.5 km to the south to Cape Contrariety . The beach itself is 2.1 kilometers long and part of Storm Bay . Because of its waves, it is suitable for surfing . At the same time, it is considered a dangerous stretch of coast.
