Clotilde Barth , also Clothilde Barth ( December 18, 1867 in Munich - February 22, 1949 there ) was a German theater actress .

Life

Barth was the daughter of the higher regional judge Carl Barth . Already at school, she was enthusiastic about the arts by reading the classics and attending some classical theater performances. She had only one wish: to be able to take up a stage career too. After conquering the resistance that she had found in her relatives in this regard, she took dramatic lessons from Ms. Rita Wagner in Munich and after just one and a half years of studying she succeeded in public as “Beatrice” in “ Bride of Messina ” at the Munich Court Theater to be able to kick. Although she liked both the public and the press, she nevertheless drew Ernst von Possart's attention to the fact that her peculiarity seemed to point her more to the subject of heroines than to that of lovers.

And in fact, the same for her, in March 1892 in Aachen completed stint as " Iphigenia " and " Joan of Arc " she found so thunderous applause that she decided to continue in the compartment of the first heroines and room Ladies to work. After 1904 she was engaged in the Danzig ensemble of the local theater and also gave speaking lessons for aspiring actresses (including Lisbeth Glaeser-Wilken ) and actors.
