Clotilde Valter (born June 24, 1962 in Béthune ) is a French politician . She has been State Secretary in the Valls II cabinet since June 2015 .

Valter graduated from the Institut d'études politiques de Paris with a degree in political science in 1983 and then attended the École nationale d'administration in Strasbourg until 1987 . From 1991 she worked for Minister Lionel Jospin . Two years later she moved to the Ministry of Finance. When Jospin was elected Prime Minister in 1997, she worked for him again. In 2001 she gained her first political office when she entered the Lisieux City Council . At the suggestion of the previous MP Yvette Roudy , she ran in 2002 in the third constituency of the Calvados department for the Parti socialiste , but failed. However, in 2004 she succeeded in entering the General Council of the Département. In the 2007 elections , she failed again because of her entry into parliament. In 2008 she applied for a seat in the Senate and narrowly failed because of René Garrec . The following year she ran unsuccessfully in the European elections. She ran for the third time in the parliamentary elections in 2012 and was able to win a seat in the National Assembly. On June 17, 2015, as part of a cabinet reshuffle, she was appointed State Secretary for State Reform and Debureaucratisation in the government of Prime Minister Manuel Valls .
