Cobá is a place in Mexico , located in the northeast of the Yucatán peninsula in the state of Quintana Roo near the border with neighboring Yucatán .

The village of Cobá is west of the Tulum - Valladolid trunk road , about 42 km northwest of Tulum. It is connected with an approximately 1 km long cul-de-sac. The place is 15 m above sea level.
Cobá belongs to the municipality of Tulum, which was founded in 2008 . At the 2010 census it had 1278 inhabitants.
