The Cockmobil was a motor vehicle from the Cockerell Vehicle Works .
Construction time and production number
There are different details about the construction time of the Cockmobile: 1924, from 1923 to 1926, 1926, or 1924 presented and produced until 1926. Five copies of the Cockmobil were made. As far as is known, none has survived.
Chassis and drive
The cockmobile was a tricycle with the single wheel in the front. One source states that a 198 cc motorcycle engine powered the front wheel via a V-belt . Another source confirms the drive to the front wheel via V-belts. A display with an illustration shows that the engine was mounted above the front wheel. A fourth source states that Cockerell used the front wheel and the front-wheel mounted rotary motor of the Megola . Since the display indicates that the vehicles are tax-free and have no driving licenses , the engine cannot have had a displacement of more than 200 cm³.
Body shapes
The Cockmobile was available as an open two-seater. A convertible top was available for an extra charge. A delivery van version was also on offer.
