Coconut Records (band)
Coconut Records is a solo indie pop project from former drummer for Phantom Planet , Jason Schwartzman .
Career
He started the solo project in 2006 with the debut album Nighttiming , which followed a year later and was released on Schwartzman's own label Young Baby Records in 2007. Other bands also worked on his first album and can also be heard on this, such as Incubus , or the actresses Zooey Deschanel and Kirsten Dunst . His title West Coast has been used in various series such as OC, California and gained notoriety. In 2013 the track was used on TV for an ORF self-promotion campaign.
The second album was released in 2009. Schwartzmann also created the title song for the HBO series Bored to Death under the title of his solo project .
