Coconut Records
Coconut Records is a German independent label that was founded in January 1981 by producers Tony Hendrik and Karin Hartmann and was linked to Hansa Records via a distribution agreement . One of the first bands in the catalog was the girl trio À La Carte with a constantly changing line-up. Their single You Get Me On The Run (January 1981) was the first to attract attention to the young label when it reached number 41 on the German charts . The greatest success was the Eurodance hit What Is Love by Haddaway , which sold 2.6 million copies worldwide.
The previous owners Hendrik / van Haaren sold Coconut Records to Coconut Music Ltd. in January 2007 . & Co. KG , backed by an international group of investors.
