The Codex Beratinus 2 ( minuscule 1143 in numbering according to Gregory-Aland ) is an illustrated minuscule manuscript of the four Gospels of the New Testament . It has been palaeographically dated to the 9th century. The handwriting is written in gold on 420 purple-colored parchment sheets measuring 19 cm × 24 cm . The letters are in early minuscule , partly also in semi- uncials and uncials .

The manuscript contains colored miniatures , as well as ornamental decorations and geometric patterns.

The manuscript, together with Codex Beratinus 1 , has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Document (Albania) since 2005 . Both come from the central Albanian city of Berat and are now kept in Tirana.
