Coffee is a roots reggae band from Bremen . The 11-piece band plays a mixture of roots reggae, dancehall and ballad-like songs.

history

In 2008 in the Hanseatic city of Bremen the Duo Coffee emerged from a previous band project with the Jamaican singer “Fire Black”. The two guitarists and singers Jonas Baumeister and Mario Varvarikés decided at that time to go their own way and released the CD Full Flavored in 2009 . After successfully performing as an acoustic duo in the Bremer Kulturzentrum Lagerhaus as well as at various celebrations and festivals and gradually making a successful entry into the local music scene, they decided in early 2010 to perform their songs with a full band line-up.

style

The band plays modern roots reggae, rock dancehall and sometimes slower ballads. As an acoustic duo, Coffee attracted attention primarily through harmonious two-part vocals and the percussive use of their guitars (as known from artists such as John Butler etc.).

Radio Bremen commented on the band's musical influences: “From Seeed to Bob Marley, influences can be felt in their roots reggae. Coffee play reggae at its best, skillfully mixing modern roots and danceable dancehall with rock ballads. "
