Coordinates: 30 ° 19 '  S , 153 ° 7'  O Coffs Harbor City is a Local Government Area (LGA) in the Australian state of New South Wales . The area is 1,173.7 km² and has about 72,900 inhabitants.

Coffs Harbor is located on the east coast of the state about 540 km north of the metropolis Sydney and 400 km south of Brisbane . The area comprises 42 hamlets and hamlets, including Arrawarra , Bonville, Coffs Harbor , Coromba, Emerald Beach, Karangi, Korora, Mullaway, Nana Glen, Sandy Beach, Sawtell, Toormina, Upper Orara, Woolgoolga and part of Moonee Beach. The City Council is based in the coastal town of Coffs Harbor, which has a population of around 48,500.

The Coffs Harbor City Council has nine members, eight councilors and one chairman and mayor, who are elected by the residents of the LGA. Coffs Harbor is not subdivided into districts.
