The Cold Lake is a 373 km² large lake in the two Canadian prairie provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan .

The Canadian town of Cold Lake in northeastern Alberta is named after the lake on whose south bank it lies. 15 km north of Cold Lake is the slightly larger Primrose Lake . The portion of Cold Lake that is in Alberta is in the Municipal District Bonnyville No. 87 , while the part in the Saskatchewan Province of the Rural Municipality Beaver River No. 622 is assigned. Cold Lake Provincial Park, Alberta and Meadow Lake Provincial Park, Saskatchewan are protected areas that enclose the lake.

The following types of fish are caught in the lake: rainbow trout , eyeglasses , American perch , herring vendace , pike and American char .

The lake gave the Indians living there the name: Cold Lake First Nations .
