The Martineau River forms the main tributary of Cold Lake in the Canadian provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan .
The Martineau River forms the drain of Primrose Lake on its south bank. It flows a bit to the south, takes the Muskeg River from the left and turns west. He crosses the Saskatchewan-Alberta border, turns southwest, and reaches the north shore of Cold Lake. The Martineau River has a length of about 65 km. Its catchment area covers 5350 km². This corresponds to more than 85 percent of the Cold Lake catchment area. The mean discharge is 7.3 m³ / s.
