Color the Small One is the third studio album by the Australian singer-songwriter Sia . The album was released on January 19, 2004 in the UK and Australia, while it was released in the United States on February 3, 2004. The entire album was produced by Jimmy Hogarth, who also co-wrote three songs on the album and played some instruments. On January 10, 2006 the album was re-released in the USA and the song Breathe Me became known there.

In 2000 Sia moved to the UK based on her previous studio album, Healing Is Difficult . After the promotion for this album failed, she fired her manager and left her record label Sony Music , whereupon she joined the Go! Beat Records signed a contract.
The album was recorded in 2003 at Heliocentric Studios, which are located in Rye . Sia herself said that touring with the band Zero 7 had the biggest impact on the production of the album.
All titles were written by Sia, five with Samuel Dixon. The song The Bully was also written in collaboration with the American musician Beck . Two other songs were also written together with Beck, but they didn't make it onto the final track list. The backing vocals of Natale's Song were sung by British singer Sophie Barker, who previously worked with Sia on Zero 7's single Destiny . The song The Church of What's Happening Now features the British singer Yvonne John Lewis.
