Columbus is an Australian pop punk / emo band from Brisbane .
history
Columbus was founded in Brisbane in 2012 by singer and guitarist Alex Moses, as well as bassist Ben Paynter and drummer Daniel Seymour . Moses and Seymour had known each other since childhood and met Paynter when they were playing together in the high school jazz band.
On January 19, 2014, Home Remedy, an EP with four tracks, was released, which was only released on its own on a digital level. In October of the previous year, the group released their debut EP Sad Songs and Sing-Alongs . The debut album Spring Forever followed on August 26, 2016 via UNFD after they signed a record deal with the label in February of the same year.
Between November 15 and 26, 2016, the band toured the UK for the first time as opening act for Roam . The group previously played Australia several times , including with In Hearts Wake and The Ataris .
After the EP Next to Me was released in 2017, the band's second full studio album A Hot Take on Heartbreak was released via UNFD on May 25, 2018.

The lyrics on Spring Forever are about love and getting older. The music is comparable to the more recent works by Moose Blood and Real Friends .
