Comet Feuerwerk is a company in the pyrotechnic industry based in Bremerhaven . Comet imports and sells fireworks .

Comet Feuerwerk has been operating as Comet Feuerwerk GmbH since 2003 and has been a subsidiary of the Hong Kong- based international trading group Li & Fung since January 12, 2005 . Before that, the company belonged to the Nuremberg armaments company Diehl and produced fireworks and ammunition for the German armed forces. The locations were the factory in Bremerhaven on the former Donar factory site and from 1999 after the takeover of Piepenbrock Pyrotechnik also the former pyrotechnical factory Feistel in Göllheim in Rhineland-Palatinate . Today the company no longer has a German production facility.

After Comet had to register short-time work in the spring of 2013 due to the loss of a major customer, the company took over the fireworks division of the former competitor FKW Keller GmbH in August 2013 as part of an asset deal . This puts Comet Feuerwerk in second place with a market share of 35 percent, behind market leader Weco Feuerwerk . Until 2002 the company was the market leader in Germany. Comet generates almost 95 percent of its annual sales in the three sales days before New Year's Eve .
