The Committee Bay is a bay-like waters off the north coast of South Georgia . In the Bay of Isles , the bay is bounded by the islands of Crescent Island , Invisible Island , the Hogs Mouth Rocks and Albatross Island , which are arranged in a semicircle . Your northwest-facing entrance is between Crescent Island and Albatross Island.
The American ornithologist Robert Cushman Murphy was the first to map them during his visit to South Georgia (1912–1913) on board the brig Daisy . Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations surveyed the bay between 1929 and 1930 and named the bay after the committee that supported the research campaign.
