Compulsory Skin is a rock project from Berlin that is musically located in the alternative .
history
The band was founded in 1997 by the former Domina Valeska Weich, also known by her stage name PiaPale. PiaPale is considered the creative mind and sole songwriter of the band. Furthermore, she arranges most of the pieces on her own and plays almost all of the instruments herself, all other members of the band mainly act as live cast and support. In addition, PiaPale deals with painting and photography , which is why she takes on the design of her CDs, booklets etc. herself.
The debut Regulation trilogy consisted of three CDs, which were divided into "Black", "White" and "Red". The names of the colors are intended to describe the individual states of mind to which the music on the individual CDs corresponds. In 2007 they brought out their second album Naked to the Bones on the Bayreuth label Danse Macabre , which played part of the debut in compressed form. Songs like Stained , The World in Me and Twisted were preserved on both releases. Compulsory Skin received primarily positive feedback with this album. The band subsequently published several contributions to compilations and produced the music for the trailer for the Russian film Guardians of the Night - Nochnoi Dozor . In addition, the band worked on their first video for the song All You Can Eat with the former bassist of the band Marilyn Manson , Gidget Gein , together shortly afterwards at an overdose of heroin died
