history
The Computerbetrug.de website was founded in August 2001 by Heiko Rittelmeier as a private initiative. In 2003, the Yahoo! Voted website of the year. In 2005 the forum of Computerbetrug.de merged with the forum of Dialerschutz.de , another well-known German consumer protection website under private management. In November 2007, Heiko Rittelmeier, operator of Computerbetrug.de, and Sascha Borowski, operator of Dialerschutz.de, decided to operate jointly on the market under the Computerbetrug.de brand. In the past few years, Computerbetrug.de has been the victim of warnings and DDoS attacks that were registered in the national media.
Today, the Computerbetrug.de website reports up to 370,000 visits per month, making it one of the most far-reaching private consumer protection websites in Germany.
