Computer driving license
Computer driving license , sometimes also a computer passport and rarely also a computer diploma , is the name for a certificate of knowledge in the IT area. history
In 1985 a student association in Bochum developed a concept for a course with 30 double hours for unemployed young academics. The aim was to impart knowledge that should enable the development of algorithms that can be translated into any high-level programming language - for example Pascal . The focus was on imparting basic knowledge, not user knowledge for standard software. Another course (three months full-time or evening course) was held in Munich at the same time. The three-tier offer for secretaries, clerks, accountants and employees of small companies included basic knowledge of several operating systems and basic knowledge of several standard applications, such as B. WordStar , Lotus 1-2-3 , application development and programming in BASIC .

There are different models of computer driving licenses, which are aimed primarily at inexperienced computer users in the private sector, but also play a role in school, training and the world of work. The term certification is also used in the professional use of software .
