Comunità montana

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Comunità montana , in German mountain community , is an association of several mountain and foothills in Italy . The individual municipalities can also be located in different provinces .

The Comunità montane was introduced in the 1970s with the status of a local territorial body under public law . The establishment of the individual mountain communities takes place by decree of the president of the region. The island or archipelago communities ( Comunità isolane or Comunità di arcipelago ) are equated with the mountain communities .

The Comunità montana has the task of upgrading the mountain regions and can perform communal functions such as B. take over the garbage collection for the affiliated communities.

Mountain communities exist in all regions, with the exception of Sicily (abolished in 1986), Sardinia (abolished in 2007), Liguria (abolished in 2010) and Trentino-Alto Adige . In South Tyrol there are instead district communities , in Trentino valley communities , which, however, have more extensive functions than those of the mountain communities.

In the French-speaking Aosta Valley , the mountain communities ( French Communautés de montagne ) were replaced by the Unionen Aosta Valley communities ( French Unités des Communes Valdôtaines ).

criticism

The Comunità montane are controversial in Italy. Because the status of a mountain community also goes hand in hand with generous funding, even coastal communities have been merged to form Comunità montane . Since the problem was made public, the number has decreased.
