Concetta Luna

Concetta Ester Lucia Luna (born May 31, 1959 ) is an Italian classical philologist and historian of philosophy .

Luna studied Classical Philology from 1978 to 1982 at the University of Pisa and the Scuola Normale Superiore and graduated from the University of Pisa with the Laurea , at the Scuola Normale Superiore with the Diploma di licenza. From 1982 to 1985 she took a Corso di perfezionamento at the Scuola Normale Superiore (postgraduate studies). From 1985 to 1987 she continued her studies with a scholarship at the École Normale Supérieure , Paris , and from 1987 to 1990 with an “Allocation de recherche” at the Collège de France . From 1990 to 1992 she stayed at the Thomas Institute in Cologne on a grant from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (Bonn) . Since 1992 she has been a ricercatore (research assistant) at the Scuola Normale Superiore in the subject Latin Language and Medieval Literature .

Luna works on Neoplatonism ( Simplikios , Marinos , Damascios ) and on medieval philosophy ( Aegidius Romanus , a student of Thomas Aquinas ) as well as on the Arab reception of Neoplatonism.
