Concrete Jungle (band)
Concrete Jungle is an eight-piece reggae band from Darmstadt .
history
The band was founded in 1991 and creates its own style: Urban Roots Reggae . They make groovy , demanding music that never loses touch with the roots thanks to catchy melody lines and brass sections. The band's name translates as concrete jungle . On the one hand it is based on the origin of the band (Rhine-Main area with very densely populated areas) and on the other hand a homage to the song of the same name by Bob Marley .
In addition to club and festival appearances (Chiemsee Reggae Summer, Bongo Bongo Sunsplash etc.) on large and small stages across Germany and other European countries (Italy, Poland, Austria), Concrete Jungle has already made guest appearances in the opening act of well-known reggae greats such as, for example Israel Vibration , Iqulah and Michael Rose .
Further highlights were several appearances at the Darmstadt Schlossgraben Festival, most recently in 2012, when the band spread their live presence on the crowded Karolinenplatz in front of over 10,000 spectators.
