Condemned 84 is a British Oi! -Band from Ipswich . Due to various statements and the collaboration with controversial bands and record labels, the band is occasionally assigned to right-wing extremist music . Officially, Condemned 84 describes himself as apolitical.

Band history

In the fall of 1980 the band was founded as Criminal Tendencies. Three years later she renamed herself Condemned. When their first demo appeared in 1984 , the number 84 was added to the band name. The band played various concerts, mainly in the UK. In 1986 their debut MLP Battle Scarred appeared , which, like the following EP, was able to place itself in the British independent charts.

Several albums followed, including on the controversial labels Rock-O-Rama and Dim Records in Germany . The band is still active today.

In July 2014, the album Face the Aggression was indexed by the Federal Testing Office for Media Harmful to Young People (BPjM) and placed on List B of the indexed carrier media.

Music genre

Condemned 84 play tough British Oi !. The texts deal with everyday topics and have a tendency to glorify violence.

criticism

Condemned 84 was considered an apolitical band despite years of collaboration with right-wing rock labels such as Rock-O-Rama and Dim Records. However, she positioned herself strongly anti-communist and rejects the punk movement. Its members were also patriotic . In recent times the band has been looking to get close to British RAC bands. According to Mark Noah of the US gray area label GMM Records, they refused to play with The Templars and Pressure Point because they had black band members and this would make their right-wing fans in Europe angry. In addition, some concerts are documented at which there were Hitler salutes , as well as appearances in the Hammerskins environment.

Cliff Warby, a former drummer for the band, moved to the United States and joined the far-right scene there.
