Congatec ( proper spelling in minuscules : congatec) is a Bavarian developer of embedded systems that are used in industrial automation, medical technology, transport and telecommunications. The company describes itself as the world market leader in the so-called computer-on-module segment .
history
Congatec was founded on December 9, 2004 by 13 former JUMPtec and Kontron employees. Kontron had taken over JUMPtec two years earlier. The number of employees grew from 13 to more than 177 in 2014. Jason Carlson, who was born in Minnesota , has been CEO since 2015 .
Production and customers
As a fabless developer, Congatec does not operate its own production sites, but has its products manufactured by contract manufacturers ( foundries ). Its largest customers include Bernecker + Rainer , Amazon , Bosch Rexroth , General Electric , Google , Rohde & Schwarz , Samsung and Siemens .
initial public offering
As early as 2015, Congatec aimed to be listed on the US Nasdaq stock exchange , but the project was canceled due to the ailing capital market. The IPO announced in mid-September 2019 for the end of 2019 in the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange was postponed one month later to 2020.
