Konrad "Conny" Gasser (born June 6, 1938 ; † December 18, 2007 in Zurich ) was a Swiss circus director and entrepreneur.

Life

Gasser grew up in his parents' Circus Royal, where he met the Hamburg artist Gerda Hernaiz, whom he later married. For ten years he performed with her all over the world with a top air number as The Tongas . In 1970 they both developed a dolphin show with which they also performed in Las Vegas , among other places . In 1979 the Conny-Land amusement park in Lipperswil was created .

His children Roby and Nadja followed their father and performed with sea lions worldwide, where they were honored with high awards (Roby at the Circus Festival of Monte Carlo 1981 with the Golden Clown and Nadja 1989 with the Silver Clown).

In 1982 he co-founded Switzerland's first Christmas circus , the Circus Conelli . He himself was artistic director and producer, support also came from his wife Gerda, his son Roby and his wife Cindy.

The 69-year-old, who had previously suffered from heart problems, died of heart failure during an operation.
