Conrad Beckmann (politician)

Conrad Beckmann (born April 4, 1900 in Hanover , † April 2, 1950 in Osnabrück ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Conrad Beckmann attended a Catholic elementary school and began an apprenticeship in the metalworking trade after graduating from school . He had been in the construction industry since 1922 and had been unionized since his apprenticeship. In 1919 he became a member of the SPD. Between 1924 and 1925 he attended the state business school in Düsseldorf . From 1927 he was managing director of the German construction trade association. Later he was managing director at Bauhütte Niedersachsen , but was dismissed without notice after the seizure of power in 1933.

During the period of National Socialism Beckmann was arrested several times, most recently in the 1944th

After he founded a farm, he participated in the development of the SPD in the post-war period .

Beckmann became a member of the appointed Hanover State Parliament from August 23, 1946 to October 29, 1946. He was also a member of the appointed Lower Saxony State Parliament from December 9, 1946 to March 28, 1947.
