Conrad Philipp Limmer

Conrad Philipp Limmer (born February 18, 1658 in Nienburg (Saale) , † January 1, 1730 in Zerbst / Anhalt ) was a German physician, high school professor in Zerbst / Anhalt and member of the academy of scholars " Leopoldina ".

Life

Conrad Philipp Limmer received his doctorate in 1688 from the University of Altdorf . He was a city physician as well as a high school professor for mathematics, physics and medicine in Zerbst / Anhalt. He also held the office of Lord Mayor in Zerbst / Anhalt.

On September 24, 1688, Conrad Philipp Limmer with the nickname LEUCIPPUS was accepted as a member ( matriculation number 161 ) in the Leopoldina . Among other things, he worked on the issue of good food and drink. He paid special attention to the specialty of the Zerbster beer, which resulted from the hardness and coldness of the water in the Zerbster fountain. Limmer came to the conclusion that people with a cold stomach are therefore not able to tolerate Zerbster beer without wine.
