Conrad Willgerodt
Conrad Heinrich Christoph Willgerodt (born November 2, 1841 in Harlingerode , † December 19, 1930 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German chemist.
Willgerodt was an academic student of Adolf Claus . He was born in Freiburg i. B. to Dr. phil. PhD. Since the winter semester 1876/77 he taught as a private lecturer, from the summer semester 1882 to the summer semester 1913 as a regular associate professor at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, chemistry and inorganic technology, from the summer semester 1889 to the summer semester 1896 also for camera students in economics. The Willgerodt-Kindler reaction for converting aliphatic-aromatic ketones into carboxylic acids is named after him .
In 1888 Willgerodt was elected a member of the Leopoldina .
Among other things, he discovered iodosobenzene .
