Constantin Georg Alexander Winkler
Constantin Georg Alexander Winkler (* June 14, 1848 ; † 1900 ), also with the alternative spelling "Konstantin" for the first name and "Winckler" for the surname, was a Baltic German botanist . Its official botanical author's abbreviation is " C.Winkl. "
Live and act
Winkler studied in Dorpat from 1867 to 1874, worked in the Botanical Garden in Dorpat from 1874 to 1879 and was the chief botanist at the St. Petersburg Botanical Garden from 1893 to 1900 .
Honor taxon
The plant genus Winklera Regel from the cruciferous family (Brassicaceae) has been named after him.
