The Constellation Inlet is an icy bay 50 km long and 16 km wide in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . It is located on the southwestern edge of the Filchner-Ronne Ice Shelf between the Dott Ice Rise and the Skytrain Ice Rise . The main tributary is the Union Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1961 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1967 after the Lockheed Super Constellation of the type C-121J, which was used for many years for passenger transport to the McMurdo station and for the creation of aerial photographs in the Antarctic was used.
