Conway Ice Ridge is a ridge of press ice near the Gould coast of Marie Byrd Land in West Antarctica . It lies between the Whillans Ice Stream and the Mercer Ice Stream .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named this object in 2003 after the US geophysicist Howard B. Conway of the University of Washington , who conducted studies at the Siple Dome from 1994 to 1995 and at the Meserve Glacier from 1994 to 1995 and was team leader of the team , which examined the glacial origin of the Pressisrücke from 2001 to 2002.
