The Cook Islands coin table is an investment coin and Kurant coin that is only available in silver . The coin has the shape of an embossed, thin plate with predetermined breaking points for individual rectangular "coins" or coin bars , which can be separated from one another by kinking without loss and without tools. It is the official currency in the Cook Islands . This means that (in connection with production in Switzerland) the coin table can be offered more cheaply than normal silver bars by applying differential taxation for VAT. The fact that it can be divided into small units (10 x 10 g or 100 x 1 g) is intended to ensure the ability to pay in the event of a crisis - while at the same time making production, authenticity checking and storage easier. The coin plate has been produced by the Valcambi Scheideanstalt in Switzerland since 2012 .

These coin tablets are a special type of investment coins from the Cook Islands .
