The silver coin is available in different sizes with a fine weight between ¼ ounce to 5 kg made of silver with a  fineness of 999/1000. Although the coin with its face value of 500  dram (1 ounce) is an official currency in Armenia , it is not produced in the Middle Eastern country. The agency edition is produced by Leipziger Edelmetallverarbeitung in Germany. Similar to well-known investment coins such as the Maple Leaf , the Vienna Philharmonic or the US Silver Eagle , the motif of this coin always remains the same.

The well-known Bible story of Noah and his ark was chosen as the motif for the coin . It describes how God punishes mankind with a mighty flood for the sins they have committed. The only exception is the pious Noah with his family, to whom God reports in advance of the flood and orders him to build a mighty ship. With the help of this ark, Noah, his relatives and a large group of animals are spared the flood and can rebuild humanity after they are stranded on Mount Ararat .

The reason why the motive for the coin was chosen for this story is its connection to Armenian history. Until the 1920s, Mount Ararat was still largely on Armenian territory, as the border between the small Caucasian state and Turkey ran exactly over the top of the mountain. When the country was divided between the Soviet Union and Turkey after the First World War , the entire mountain fell to Turkey. Although Ararat is no longer part of Armenia on the map today, it is still an important part of the national identity. A symbolic image can still be found today in the official national coat of arms of Armenia .

The national coat of arms also adorns the obverse (front) of the coin. In addition to the Armenian national emblem, the inscription “Republic of Armenia” in English and in Armenian is also embossed on this side of the coin, as well as the respective face value between 100 and 20,000 dram. The data that are important for investors are also given on this page. This includes the fineness of the coin as well as its fine weight and the year of issue.

In the foreground you can see the dove with an olive branch in its beak, which according to the Bible text Noah announced the end of the flood. In addition to the image, the English name of the coin "Noah's Ark" and its translation into Armenian are also shown on this page.
