The Copper City Chiefs were an American ice hockey team from Rome , New York . The team played in the North Eastern Hockey League in the 2007-08 season . The home games were played in the John F. Kennedy Civic Arena .

history

The team was founded in 2007 as a franchise of the North Eastern Hockey League . In their only season, the Chiefs finished second in the regular season with four wins in eight games, before the league ceased operations in January 2008 with immediate effect. For the 2008/09 season the team should take part in the game operations of the Eastern Professional Hockey League , but withdrew in early October 2008 - before the start of the season - due to financial problems.
