The Connecticut Cougars were an American ice hockey team from Cromwell , Connecticut . The team played in the 2003/04 season in the North Eastern Hockey League . The home games were played at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center .

history

The team was founded in 2003 as a franchise of the North Eastern Hockey League , which was held for the first time . It was initially located in Poughkeepsie in the US state of New York , where it appeared under the name Poughkeepsie Panthers .

However, due to a lack of audience response, the team was relocated to Cromwell , Connecticut , in the 2003 calendar year . There the team ran on as Connecticut Cougars . Due to failed negotiations for a home ground in Cromwell, the team only played away games until the end of the season. In their only season, the Cougars finished fourth in the regular season.
