The Kensington Valley Pounders were an American ice hockey team based in Brighton , Michigan . The team last played in the 2007-08 season in the North Eastern Hockey League . The home games were played at the Kensington Valley Ice House .

history

The team was founded in 2005 as a franchise of the North Eastern Hockey League , which operated under the name Continental Professional Hockey League in the 2005/06 season . It was initially located in Pittsburgh in the US state of Pennsylvania , where it appeared under the name Pittsburgh Pounders . The regular season, planned with 44 games, was canceled in mid-December 2005 due to economic problems. For the following season, the franchise was moved to Danville , Illinois , and operated there under the name Danville Pounders .

The team won only six out of 20 games in the 2006/07 game year. This was followed by another resettlement of the team, this time to Brighton in the US state of Michigan and appeared there as Kensington Valley Pounders . The 2007/08 season could not be ended as planned, so both the league and the franchise of the Kensington Valley Pounders broke up in the episode.
