The Copper Col ( English for Copper Pass ) is a 305 m high mountain pass on the Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is in the Osterrieth Range and runs between Copper Peak and Billie Peak .
The first sighting is probably on participants of the Belgica expedition (1897–1899) under the direction of the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery . Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations mapped it in 1927 based on the neighboring Copper Peak as Copper Glacier . The Falklands Islands Dependencies Survey came to a recent survey in 1955 concluded that it is more of a mountain pass as a glacier with this project, and took a corresponding adjustment of the original designation before.
