The Copper Peak (English for Kupferspitze ) is a 1125 m high mountain on the Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago . In the Osterrieth Range it rises 3 km north-northeast of Billie Peak .
He was first spotted on the Belgica expedition (1897-1899) led by the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery , who explored the south-east coast of Anvers Island. His name first appears on a map based on surveys carried out in 1927 as part of the British Discovery Investigations . It is named after its striking green color, which is caused by copper-based verdigris .
