Way of life
The Coquifrankolin usually stays on the ground and feeds on various insects and seeds. During the mating season, the roosters emit a loud call ("Terr, ink, ink, terra, terra terra") that is vaguely similar to the sound of a child's trumpet. The clutch consists of 4–5 eggs . Once the chicks have hatched, several pairs combine with their chicks to form small groups.
