Corina Oosterveen

Corina Oosterveen is a Dutch-German dance teacher and choreographer .

Oosterveen teaches as a lecturer at the state-recognized Theater Academy Mannheim in the areas of dance and movement expression and is also self-employed at various large educational institutions, theaters and independent stages. She collects traditional dances, is a member of the “International Council for Traditional Music” of UNESCO (Secretariat Germany), the “German Federal Dance Association” (formerly also on the board) and the US “Country Dance and Song Society”. She writes as a specialist journalist, for example for the magazines “Tanzen”, “Folker”, Tanzaffice, as well as for UNESCO Council trad. Music publications and those of the music and dance symposia , where she is invited as a speaker.

As an author, she publishes on dance pedagogy (methodology-didactics), choreography, sitting dance , modern dance , movement analysis and improvisation in dance, Argentine tango , tap dance and traditional dance from Brittany and Western Europe. She also works as a dance teacher in all of these subjects and also leads training courses in dance. Ms. Oosterveen was a member of the "Cercle Breton de Paris ", led the traditional dance group "Pälzer Danzheisl", partner group of the Cercle Brizeux Lorient and is an honorary member of the group. She choreographs dance pieces for the stage (acting and dance) and for dance in educational work. The own company is active from 1989 to 1998, the latest modern dance project was realized in 2017.

As a pioneer, she played a key role in setting up the Tango Argentino scene in the Rhine-Neckar region : the first Tango de Salón workshop in the entire Rhine-Neckar region took place in October 1988 in the "Tanzhaus", the dance department of the Ludwigshafen cultural center " instead of. From this point onwards, tango will become a fixed and regular workshop series. As the founder of the "Tanzhaus" and its long-time director, Ms. Oosterveen got to know tango during her time in Paris in 81/82, she is a tango dancer (since 1983) and a tango teacher (since 1993). She brings teachers from Argentina and Paris to Ludwigshafen for the "Tanzhaus" and organizes the first milongas and tango balls (with live music) for the entire Rhine-Neckar region there from February 1989. As a tango dancer from the very beginning, Oosterveen is also the longest active tango teacher in this region.
