Corinne Widmer Lüchinger

Corinne Widmer Lüchinger (* 1974 in Watford , England , as Corinne Widmer ) is a Swiss lawyer and professor at the University of Basel .

Life

After the Matura type B at the Gymnasium Münchenstein in 1992, Widmer Lüchinger studied law at the Universities of Basel and Neuchâtel from 1993 . This study she completed in 1998 with a grade of summa cum laude in licentiate . From 1999 she worked in Basel as an assistant at Ingeborg Schwenzer's chair . Widmer Lüchinger received his doctorate there in 2002, also with summa cum laude , for Dr. iur. This work received the Amerbach Prize 2003/04 and the Professor Walther Hug Prize 2004. In 2004 Widmer Lüchinger passed her lawyer exam in the canton of Basel-Stadt and then worked as a lawyer in Basel.

Widmer Lüchinger had already held various teaching positions at the Universities of Basel and St. Gallen since 2002 . Since 2008 she has also worked as a lecturer for “English for Lawyers” at the Europa Institut Zurich and for “International Business Law” at the University of Zurich . In November 2008, the University of Basel awarded her the venia docendi for the subjects of private law, comparative law and international private law. After a visiting professorship and a substitute chair at the University of Zurich, Widmer Lüchinger worked as an associate professor for private law, international private law and comparative law at the University of Basel from 2010. Since 2013 she has been a full professor for the aforementioned subjects. She has been the dean of the Basel Faculty of Law since 2016.

Widmer Lüchinger's research focuses primarily on the law of obligations, international private law, comparative law, medical law and the UN sales law (CISG).
