Cornelia Muth

Cornelia Muth (born April 12, 1961 ) is a German educational scientist, gestalt pedagogue . Since 2001 she has been a professor at the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences .

From 1981 to 1987 Muth studied pedagogy in the diploma course at the Rheinische-Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and at the Free University (FU) Berlin with a focus on adult education . In 1988 Muth trained to become a gestalt pedagogue at the Institute for Gestalt Therapy and Gestalt Pedagogy in Berlin. 1994 Muth was at the Free University Berlin on adult education as a transcultural Dialogik doctorate . In 2008 she qualified as a professor at the University of Kassel on the subject of "Dialogic Pedagogy - Identity Formation through Differences".

From 1987 to 1990 Muth was an education officer, then until 1991 deputy department and training manager in the teaching and education department of Sportjugend Berlin. From 1991 to 1993 she headed the international office of the Berlin University of Applied Sciences , and from 1994 to 1998 she was a research assistant at the Free University of Berlin in the department of political science on the subjects of theoretical principles, content and communication problems of political adult education. Subsequently, Muth worked as a freelancer in adult education until 2001 with further training measures, supervision, coaching, workshops and teaching assignments.

Since 2001 Muth has been working as a professor of educational science , social philosophy and social ethics in the social affairs department at the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. Her subject area includes educational science , historical models of education, school and leisure education, and the history of philosophy . From 2008 to 2009 she held a substitute professorship for the chair of adult education at the University of Leipzig .

Cornelia Muth is the editor of the series of publications "Dialogical Learning" (18 volumes), which is dedicated to the application of Martin Buber's philosophy of dialogue to social affairs.

She also publishes the series “Body-Feeling and Body-Education” to research holistic knowledge processes using phenomenological methods . The first volume, “Phenomenological Research in Practice”, is about imparting intercultural skills and learning about intersubjectivity .

In “Das Zwischen !?” Muth describes the phenomenon of the “between” from the perspective of dialogue phenomenology and its significance for Martin Buber, in the philosophical discourse and in the gestalt therapeutic discussion. The difference between “between” and dialogue in Buber's sense enables singular dialogues to develop.
