Cornelia Stamm Hurter

Cornelia Stamm Hurter (born November 8, 1962 in Schaffhausen ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ). She was elected to the Schaffhausen government council in 2017 and assumed responsibility for finance when she took office in April 2018.

Career

Cornelia Stamm Hurter studied law at the Universities of Friborg and Exeter . After graduating in 1985, she worked for two years as an assistant at the law faculty of the University of Friborg. In 1991 she was the subject of the amount at leisure in accordance with Art. 164 of the Civil Code doctorate . In 1993 she was elected chief judge at the Schaffhausen Higher Court. In 1995 she was appointed by the Federal Assembly as an extraordinary federal judge in a subsidiary position at the Federal Supreme Court. From 1996 to 2004 she was Vice President of SVP Switzerland. In addition, from 2005 she was city councilor and citizen's councilor of the city of Schaffhausen, and in 2015 she chaired the council. At the end of October 2019 she was elected President of the Conference of Justice and Police Directors in Eastern Switzerland.

Personal

Stamm Hurter has been married to Thomas Hurter , SVP member in the Swiss National Council , since 1994 and has two daughters born in 1996 and 1999. She is the half-sister of the teacher Markus Stamm, who has been considered missing since 1981 and whose fate is discussed in the 2017 film Jungle .
