Cornelis Elisa van Koetsveld
Cornelis Eliza "Elisa" van Koetsveld (born May 24, 1807 in Rotterdam , † November 4, 1893 in The Hague ) was a Dutch theologian, writer and pastor.
Life
He studied theology at Leiden University . From 1830 he was pastor in Westmaas , then in Berkel en Rodenrijs and Schoonhoven and in The Hague . In 1853 he co-founded the Hague School for the Disabled (Haagse Idiotenschool). At the age of 70 he became court preacher in 1878 and directed the funerals of Prince Heinrich of Orange-Nassau , Wilhelm Friedrich Karl of Orange-Nassau Wilhelm III. (Netherlands) and Wilhelm Alexander Karl Heinrich Friedrich, the son of Wilhelm III. On October 12, 1880, he baptized the future Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands in The Hague. He received an honorary doctorate from the University of Groningen in 1865. His grave is in the Oud Eik en Duinen cemetery in The Hague.

Schetsen uit de pastorij te Mastland (1843) his main work (German: Sketches from the Pastorat zu Mastland 1865) is a book that depicts life in a remote Dutch village in the first half of the nineteenth century in a humorous and realistic way.
