Cornelis van Geelkerken

Cornelis van Geelkerken (born March 19, 1901 in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek , Belgium , † March 29, 1979 in Ede ) was a co-founder of the Dutch National Socialist Movement (NSB).

In the 1920s he drifted to right-wing extremist nationalism . He proposed an authoritarian, anti-democratic movement to Anton Mussert , which led to the founding of the Nationaal-Socialist Moving. Van Geelkerken became leader of the youth corps , the Nationale Jeugdstorm . During the German occupation of the Netherlands , Geelkerken was appointed inspector general of the Nederlandsche Landwacht , a homeland security force to fight the Dutch resistance .

After World War II , he was sentenced to life imprisonment , but released in 1959 .
